A large number of the world's most frequently performed operas were created during this period and the music from “Barbiere di Siviglia”, “Rigoletto”, “La Traviata”, “Norma” or “Lucia di Lammermoor” inspire music audiences all over the world. Die schönsten Melodien – da ist sich das Publikum in der ganzen Welt einig – wurden in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts in Italien erfunden. Der schillernde Gioachino Rossini, der melodienreiche Vincenzo Bellini und der gefühlvolle Gaetano Donizetti haben nicht nur Opernwerke von berückender Schönheit geschaffen, sondern auch die Wurzeln gelegt für die grandiose Entwicklung der italienischen Oper durch Giuseppe Verdi. Eine Vielzahl der weltweit am häufigsten gespielten Opern entstand in dieser Zeit und die Musik aus dem „Barbiere di Siviglia“, aus „Rigoletto“, „La Traviata“, „Norma“ oder „Lucia di Lammermoor“ begeistern das Musikpublikum in der ganzen Welt. Eine kleine Auswahl der schönsten Arien, Duette und Ouvertüren präsentiert unser erstes Konzert in der Reihe „Una notte italiana“, das am 19. April 2020 um 19.30 Uhr erstmals im großen Saal des Konzerthauses stattfindet.

Unter der Leitung des Dirigenten Witolf Werner von der Wiener Staatsoper musiziert das „Opern Festival Orchester“ zusammen mit 4 international erfolgreichen Gesangssolisten. Die für ihre engelhaften Höhen gefeierte rumänische Sopranistin Elena Daniela Mazilu, die Mezzosopranistin Kremena Dilcheva, der vor allem an den größten Opernhäusern Italiens erfolgreiche Tenor Federico Lepre und der Bariton Orhan Yildiz von der Wiener Staatsoper, werden die beliebtesten Melodien aus der Zeit des „Belcanto“ darbieten. Moderator Rainer Zagovec verbindet die einzelnen Musiknummern mit wissenswerten und amüsanten Details zu den einzelnen Opern.
